First term exams for CBSE Class 10, 12 are scheduled for next month and the second term examinations will be held in March-April 2022.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has forced the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to adopt a new assessment scheme for CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams and as part of the new assessment scheme, the CBSE has divided the CBSE Class 10, 12 academic sessions into 2 parts with a 50 percent syllabus in each term. It is to be noted that the first term exams for CBSE Class 10, 12 are scheduled for next month and the second term examinations will be held in March-April 2022.
“The syllabus for the academic session 2021-22 will be divided into two terms by following a systematic approach by looking into the interconnectivity of concepts and topics by the Subject Experts,” the CBSE had said.
Here are some updates that students appearing for term 1 board exams next month must keep in mind:
CBSE term 1 exam will be held in a flexible schedule of 4-8 weeks from November.
MCQ type questions will be asked in the Term 1 exam and will cover only 50 per cent of the entire syllabus. Reasoning-type MCQ questions may also be asked.
The exam will be of 90 minutes (1 Hour, 30 Minutes).

It is expected that the CBSE would release the date sheet this week.
The OMR sheet will have additional blank space or circle for the comfort of candidates.
Schools will conduct Term 1 practicals themselves. Term 2 practicals would be conducted by the CBSE.
