EXCLUSIVE: Sanjana Sanghi talks about the importance of her family in her life – “I can’t take a single decision without them”

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sanjana Sanghi talked about the importance of her family.

Actress Sanjana Sanghi marked her first lead role in the Sushant Singh Rajput starrer 2020 film Dil Bechara. The actress-model, who recently rang in her 26th birthday on September 2, sat for an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama and spoke about the importance of her family in her life and career alike and how supportive her parents have been in her journey.

“My mom, my dad and my brother, with whom I’m very close to, they are thrilled,” Sanjana shared. “But to be honest, they’ve always been the most proud and encouraging family. My parents – to both my brother and I growing up – have always been like ‘Whatever you want to do in life, give it your best. If you’re happy, we’re happy.’

She continued, “So, for them, I don’t know if me doing well in films makes them more happier than say if I continued to be a journalist – which is what I studied – if I was thriving there, they would be equally proud. But what I’m really grateful for is that as a father, for example, my dad was very protective of my mother growing up because they started kind of dating when they were very young.”

“But with me, he just lets me be,” she added. “He just kind of lets me fly but ever since I moved to Bombay, he’s far more at ease because he feels it’s the safest city, which I agree. So, I live here by myself now and have complete freedom to do what I wanna do but every professional decision, every personal decision is..- I can’t take a single decision without them.”

On the work front, Sanjana is currently gearing up for her upcoming multi-starrer film Dhak Dhak. Directed by Tarun Dujeda, the film also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles.
