Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali to be renamed as Bhaijaan?

“Sajid Nadiadwala feels that it’s only Salman Khan who can carry the title Bhaijaan and hence, has registered it as one of the probable names for Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. He feels the title will also do justice to the subject of the film, and has been discussing the idea of changing the title to Bhaijaan with Salman for a while now,” a source told

While Pooja Hegde is the female lead, Salman’s in-house talent, Aayush Sharma and Zaheer Iqbal too play a key role in this story (Bollywood Hungama will bring an exclusive scoop on their character sketch soon). The film will go on floors once Salman wraps up Tiger 3. While Sajid has made up his mind to change the title, Salman still feels that the team should go ahead with Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali.

“Sajid is considering a title change to avoid hurting any religious sentiments. However, Salman is of the opinion that the film is made with right intentions and has heart at the right place. It fits well into his ideology of being human, and feels, if both Eid and Diwali can coexist in the Indian society, the same can be a part of the title too. His idea is to celebrate unity in diversity in a comic way with Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, and doesn’t want to shift the focus on an individual, that is, his lead character,” the source further told

Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali tells the story of a family that believes in the oneness of God. Apparently the source for the plot is Salman Khan’s own family. “His father is Muslim. His mother is Hindu. Helen Aunty is a Catholic. Salman’s family is a living example of communal amity. The film’s plot will be similar. It will portray the ups and downs in a family which celebrates both Eid and Diwali with equal fervour. It will be Salman’s homage to the enduring spirit of oneness and brotherhood, a counterpoint to the currently vitiated atmosphere in the country. Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali will take the cinematic experience back to the days of films like Yash Chopra’s Dharmputra and Dhool Ka Phool. It addresses the issue of Hindu-Muslim amity” says the source.

At the moment, both titles are registered with producer, Sajid Nadiadwala and a final call on the change of title will be taken within a month before Salman begins his work on foreign leg of Tiger 3.

Sunny Leone and PETA India donate 10,000 vegan meals to Delhi migrant workers

As COVID-19 has caused many migrant workers to face a loss of income, food shortages, and uncertainty about the future, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has teamed up with actor Sunny Leone to feed 10,000 migrant workers in Delhi through the Uday Foundation.

“I’m delighted to join hands with PETA India again – this time, to get protein-packed vegan meals to thousands in need,” says Leone. “We are facing a crisis, but together, with compassion and solidarity, we will come out ahead.” The meals consist of daal and rice or khichdi and often fruit. One cup of boiled lentils contains 17.9 grams of protein. A chicken egg contains only 6 grams.

Vegan eating can help prevent conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and other ailments that increase the risk of death from COVID-19. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the largest organisation of food and nutrition professionals, states, “Vegetarians and vegans are at reduced risk of certain health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity.”

The distribution of vegan meals is also timely as the current pandemic is largely believed to have stemmed from a live-animal meat market. Similarly, SARS, bird flu, swine flu, Ebola, HIV, and numerous other diseases are believed to have spread to humans from animals at live-animal markets, on factory farms, or during slaughter.

Leone was named PETA India’s Person of the Year in 2016 and previously starred in the organisation’s campaigns in support of vegan fashion, vegetarian eating, and dog and cat adoption and sterilisation. She made her Bollywood debut in the 2012 erotic thriller Jism 2 and will soon be seen in Shero and Anamika.

World Television premiere of Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No. 1 garners 10.3 mil. viewership

David Dhawan’s Coolie No.1 starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in the lead had its world premiere on Amazon Prime Video in December 2020. The film was aired on satellite television on April 25 on Zee Cinema and has garnered over 10.3 million viewers. The David Dhawan directorial has successfully rebooted the 1995 cult hit of the same name which starred Govinda and Karisma and thespians like Kader Khan and Sadashiv Amrapurkar.

Coolie No. 1 had also scored well on OTT and followed a similar pattern of viewership when it came to satellite audiences. Owing to the pandemic, Coolie No. 1 had to skip its theatrical release and premiered on OTT. Barring Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmii, Coolie No. 1 recorded the best numbers for OTT premieres.

The satellite numbers of Coolie No.1 are around 60% better than the last release of Varun Dhawan- Street Dancer 3D – which had a fair performance on satellite. Coolie No.1 is also among the top 5 premieres on television since the pandemic hit the country in March 2020. Laxmii, War, Tanhaji:The Unsung Warrior, and Baaghi 3 are the four films ahead of Coolie No. 1 when it comes to satellite viewership.

Prabhas, Kriti Sanon starrer Adipurush to be shot in Hyderabad?

Om Raut’s upcoming directorial Adipurush is quite the talked-about project that brings together Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Prabhas for the first time. The team has already shot for 60 days in Mumbai’s Film City and were to continue their next schedule after a few weeks off from their last schedule that ended in March. With the lockdown being imposed again, the team has no other option but to hold on their plans of work. Adipurush’s team has to complete another 90 days-worth of work on set but it looks difficult with the lockdown in Maharashtra.

The team has apparently decided to move to Hyderabad along with their crew where they will be shooting indoors majorly and will follow strict protocols regarding the safety of the crew. While it is not confirmed the film’s shoot being conducted in Hyderabad, a spokesperson did mention that they will be looking for safer options to continue their work in peace. The shoots will mostly be indoor since Om Raut’s projects usually have high-octane VFX.

The film will have Prabhas and Kriti Sanon playing the role of Ram and Sita respectively, with Saif Ali Khan being the antagonist as Lankesh.

Comedian Sugandha Mishra booked for flouting COVID-19 rules during her wedding

Comedian Sugandha Mishra and Sanket Bhonsale tied the knot in the last week of April this year and the couple had posted a lot of aesthetic quintessential pictures from their wedding. Both Sanket and Sugandha have been an integral part of Indian comedy and their content is highly lauded by their followers and fans on social media. However, Sugandha seems to have landed in a bit of legal trouble due to the function held from her side of the family in Phagwara, Punjab.

In a video that was posted by them, a large gathering is seen at the wedding ceremony held by the bridegroom’s family at a resort in Phagwara. Given that the COVId-19 rules have clearly been violated in the video, a police complaint has been filed against Sugandha under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant and relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act. However, a police official said that there have been no arrests made so far in terms of the complaint.

Sugandha has not responded to the reports yet.

Rakul Preet Singh’s film with RSVP where she plays a condom tester is titled Chhatriwali

Rakul Preet Singh has finally signed her first solo female centric project and it’s indeed a quirky one. After playing the romantic lead in Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Doctor G, Rakul has decided to take the AK route to stardom. was the first to inform that Rakul has already signed the contract for a project with Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and is set to play the role of a executive.

The film, a social comedy, has Rakul playing the role of a condom tester in it. While not much is known about it right now, we can tell you that Marathi filmmaker Tejas Vijay Deoskar who directed Bucket List will be helming the project. While the film had no title till now, we hear the makers have locked the name!

Says a source to Bollywood Hungama, “They plan to call it Chhatriwaali. Yes, the film will be titled so, since Condom is called chhatri in typical local language. Since Rakul plays the role of a condom tester, this film has been given the title. While Sardar and Grandson happen to be Rakul’s debut digital project, it was planned as a theatrical release initially. But Chhatriwaali is being ideated as a direct to OTT release, much like RSVP’s Dhamaka.”

Chhatriwaali is a quirky drama that also aims at destigmatising the use of condoms. Indians still shy while buying condoms or even uttering the word. The film will be a bold but humorous take on the same, much like Dream Girl.

Before the film landed on Rakul’s lap, it was offered to Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday who declined the role. While Sara refused the film after the narration, Ananya and her team felt that the concept and the role was too bold for her.
