RAS exam | Mobile internet to remain shut in Jaipur from 9am to 1pm on October 27

The stringent measure shall be imposed in a bid to prevent paper leakage, cheating, rumour-mongering, etc, in the Rajasthan Administrative Services exam.

Mobile users will once again face an internet ban in Jaipur on Wednesday. The restriction on mobile internet usage shall be imposed on account of the Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) examination. The stringent measure shall be imposed in a bid to prevent paper leakage, cheating, rumour-mongering, etc.

Businesses are likely to face difficulty on Wednesday due to the mobile internet ban.

Earlier, several districts of Rajasthan, including capital Jaipur, Bikaner, and Dausa had to face a 12-hour mobile internet shutdown on Saturday and Sunday on account of the Patwari recruitment examinations. More than 15 lakh candidates were scheduled to appear in the Patwari recruitment examination in over 20 districts in Rajasthan.

Last month, mobile internet shut down in Rajasthan during the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers or REET in the state, which got embroiled in a controversy after allegations of widespread use of unfair means, including use of Bluetooth devices for cheating, paper leakage, etc, surfaced. Several people were arrested in the case with demands for reexamination being made by multiple candidates.

The internet clampdown on a working day is likely to affect several businesses, including those of cab services and food delivery firms, as they are largely dependent on mobile internet services.
