Actress Yuvika Chaudhary was arrested under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 (SC/ST Act) for using casteist slur in one of her videos. On October 18, she was arrested by Haryana Police and is out on interim bail. The pictures of the actress outside the police station surfaced online on Monday.

Her legal representative, Ashok Bishnoi, told ANI tabloid, “My client has joined the investigation as per the guidelines given by the High Court and she is on interim bail now (in a case of alleged offensive remarks against Scheduled Castes on a social media platform).”

After her remark, Yuvika faced a lot of criticism and backlash on social media. The actress had released a public apology on her Twitter handle. Her tweet read, “Hi guys I didn’t kw the meaning about that word wt I used in my last vlog I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone I apologise to each n every one I hope you understand love you all.”

Yuvika Chaudhary was booked in May by Haryana Police after Rajat Kalsan, a Dalit rights activist, registered a complaint against her. He alleged that the actress made some derogatory and objectionable remarks about the community in the video.
