The grand film, Brahmāstra, has been keenly awaited for various reasons, from casting to concept to grandeur, etc. However, the film got pushed multiple times over the years. Thankfully for the makers (Dharma Productions, Fox Star Studios and Prime Focus), the excitement for the film, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt always remained constant. Now, the hype is going to enhance as they are all set to unveil the motion poster of the film. Bollywood Hungama got a sneak peek into this promotional material and it’s sure to blow your mind once it’s out today in the evening.
The less-than-a-minute-long motion poster gives a glimpse into the film’s big-screen appeal. What strikes you initially is that the film boasts of some excellent visual effects, matching international standards. It is clear that the makers have made good use of the time and every care is taken so that the VFX doesn’t look tacky.
However, what will stay with people is Ranbir Kapoor’s intense look. The manner in which he looks into the eyes of the viewers while holding the fire-clad trishul with Lord Shiva in the background makes for a tremendous impact. That the blood is oozing out of his forehead and his shirt is torn indicates that he has got hurt in a fight. However, his fiery eyes show that he is all set to strike back, using his magical powers of course.
Another factor that impressed us is the use of the term ‘AstraVerse’. It’s a nice addition to the film universes that we are acquainted with like Marvel Cinematic Universe, Rohit Shetty’s cop universe and Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. Brahmāstra is intended to be a three-part saga and if the motion poster is of any indication, then the AstraVerse surely seems to be worth it.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmāstra will be released in cinemas on September 9, 2022, almost 9 months later. However, the motion poster proves that the wait until now has been worth it and we cannot wait to see how the long marketing campaign of the film pans out.
