Actress Alia Bhatt is all set for the release of her film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film took almost two years to complete and is set for a theatrical release on 25th February 2022. Ahead of its theatrical release, the film will also premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival, or, Berlinale 2022. The actress is hopeful to receive accolades for her soon to be released film.
Before the film’s release, Alia Bhatt has been doing its promotions in full swing. During the promotions on 12th February 2022, the actress interacted with the press and recalled an interesting incident that took place during the shoot of the film.
During the interaction, the actress was asked what are tips that she received from her friends Deepika Padukone and Ranveer who have worked earlier with film’s director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Replying to it, Alia said, “There is this thing that people what tips you got and what pranks you played. There have been rumours that people play tips and pranks on the sets of a film. None of this happened. It doesn’t happen like I’m starting out a film give me tips, it just happens during any conversation.”
Later, the actress then recalled an incident when she was with Deepika Padukone in Bastian for her birthday. Alia said, “I remember it was Deepika’s birthday and we went to Bastian( a restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai) for her birthday I was shooting for Gangubai at that time. So, I was like I have to leave and they asked why do you want me to leave. I told them that I have a 5 am schedule. So, they asked me what are you shooting, I said I am shooting with Sir ( Sanjay Leela Bhansali) and I have a big speech. She said okay bye and that you need your energy for your boss.”
Viacom18 Studios & Paramount Pictures International will be distributing Gangubai Kathiawadi in all International markets outside of India. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios), the film is all set to release theatrically on 25th February 2022.
