PosterGuy: The fans in the Ranchi stadium gave a rousing ovation to legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni, who was spotted by the TV cameras in the stand, during India’s first T20I match against New Zealand. The hometown hero was seen wearing a white t-shirt, sitting with his wife Sakshi Singh Rawat.
The former India captain waved at the camera and inside the stadium went berserk seeing the local hero on the big screen.
Dhoni had earlier gone to visit the Indian team ahead of the game where he chatted with the young India players under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya. The legendary Indian captain has been training in Ranchi in the run-up to the 2023 Indian Premier League season. The 2023 IPL is expected to be Dhoni’s final edition in professional cricket. The legendary Chennai Super Kings captain said back in the 2022 edition of the tournament that he wanted to play his final games in Chennai and travel the country to thank the Indian fans.
Dhoni has been keeping himself busy with business ventures and travel across the world. He also seems to have picked up an interest in golf.
Since MS Dhoni’s retirement, India have not been able to put their hands on any ICC trophy. India last won an ICC trophy back in 2013, when India defeated England to win the Champions Trophy. Dhoni played his final match with the Indian side in the 2019 ODI World Cup, where India lost in the semi-finals to New Zealand.
