While Ajay Devgn plays a pilot, Amitabh Bachchan plays a lawyer in the film.
On Thursday, Amitabh Bachchan took to his social media handle to share a 34-second video explaining what the film is about. “Runway 34 is the name of an airstrip. Every airport’s airstrip has a name. The manual that pilots have and use during the flight has various details about the runway, airports, wind, length, breadth of the runway, and much more. So a pilot, when he is about to take off reads all these details and after reading he gets to know how to land on a particular runway. It is because of this information he is able to utilise that runway. So this film is about this particular runway called Runway 34 and what transpired after that is what we hope you will see in the film,” he said in the video.
Inspired by true incidents, Runway 34 revolves around Captain Vikrant Khanna played by Ajay Devgn, a flying prodigy, whose flight takes a mysterious course after take-off from an international destination. With the thrill of the unknown in the sky, this film showcases Ajay locking horns with the legend of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan; whom he has directed for the first time. The film also features Rakul Preet Singh, as a co-pilot, in a never-seen-before role.
Directed by Ajay Devgn, Runway 34 is produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms. It is co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Vikrant Sharma, Sandeep Harish Kewlani, Tarlok Singh Jethi, Hasnain Husaini, and Jay Kanujia. Watch out for Runway 34 on Eid, April 29, 2022.
