Bollywood and south film industry’s renowned actress Taapsee Pannu is all set to star in her upcoming Rashmi Rocket. In an exclusive interview with Hungama, the actress shared her views on national awards, her preparation for the films, and much more.
When asked about how she balances out her physicality among different characters and their emotions, the actress replied, “I have kept it very clear. I start the next film when the other film finishes. I’m not overlapping my emotional bandwidth of one character with the other.”
Talking about the preparation of her upcoming film Rashmi Rocket, Taapsee said, “As a female actress physically you don’t have the privilege of sitting at home prepping for an entire year for a film and story like Rashmi. Since I did not get that chance to stay and home and completely immerse in the role, to the extent where, one cannot differentiate between the actor and character, working on ‘Rashmi’ after Haseen Dilruba where she plays a seductive role, the emotions for the former were to be switched entirely.”
As for national and other awards, Taapsee said, “I have never lobbied for any awards that took me years to get, so now how can I do it for a national award and how to do it.” Adding, “I am only performing to my best. If I don’t win this year, I promise myself I’ll come back again next year with another better performance”.
The actress also talked about her international ventures, sharing,” I haven’t got any roles worth taking up so far.” When asked about the rumors of her upcoming film with Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee jokingly replied, “I myself am not sure about anything. I shamelessly have asked producers so many times for work. Whenever I get to work with SRK you don’t have to ask me. I will inform and announce it by myself”.
Apart from Rashmi Rocket, Taapsee has already finished the shoot for Loop Lapeta which is the official adaption of german comedy-thriller Run Lola Run.
