Just like India, New Zealand are also playing back-to-back white-ball cricket. The BlackCaps are coming on the back of a successful ODI series against Pakistan.
As India and New Zealand gear up for the first ODI, let’s see what the weather looks like in Hyderabad. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium will welcome the teams on a sunny afternoon as it is going to be 29 degrees Celsius. Humidity is expected to be 33 percent and as the day progresses humidity will fluctuate.
On the eve of the match, India captain Rohit Sharma confirmed that wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will play, having being overlooked against Sri Lanka. The left-hander will bat in the middle-order after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out due to a back injury and KL Rahul was unavailable for the series.
Meanwhile, New Zealand’s stand-in captain Tom Latham said that his side will try to make things difficult for Virat Kohli, who is in excellent form. Kohli has smashed three hundreds in his last four ODI matches.
“Virat has been playing some great cricket. Looks like he is hitting the ball well. We need to plan as best as we can like we do our scouting on all those guys. We will try to make it as tough as possible for him (to score runs),” Latham said on the eve of the ODI series against India in Hyderabad.
