After Himani Bundela and Sahil Ahirwar, Geeta Singh Gour of Madhya Pradesh earned the third crorepati on Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 on Tuesday. She was able to correctly answer 15 questions to win 1 crore, but she was unable to answer the 7-crore question. She elected to leave the show with her earnings up to that point because she had no other options.
The jackpot question for Geeta was regarding the Mughal ruler Akbar’s grandsons. “Which of these names are not those of three of Akbar’s grandsons who were briefly converted to Christianity after being handed over to Jesuit priests?” Amitabh enquired.
The four choices were Don Felipe, Don Henrique, Don Carlos, and Don Francisco. Geeta left KBC 13 because she was unsure about the correct response. Don Francisco was the correct answer.
“Jehangir is thought to have been an atheist. He gave the three boys of his brother Daniyal Mirza to Jesuit monks. The three were paraded through Agra, carrying a cross and dressed in Portuguese garb. Tahmuras was renamed Don Felipe, Baysunghar was renamed Don Carlos, and Hushang was given the name Don Henrique. “However, they converted to Islam again a few months later,” Amitabh told Geeta in Hindi.
Geeta claimed in an interview that she was originally “nervous” about sitting in front of Amitabh in the KBC 13 hot seat, but that he quickly put her at ease. “I used to fantasise about what it would be like to be in the presence of such a powerful figure. But he makes you feel like he’s a family member, and all your anxieties fade away as a result. Ek pal ke liye bhi unke saamne baith ke nervous nahi hui main ek pal ke liye bhi unke saamne baith ke nervous nahi hui (I was not nervous even for a second in front of him). She explained, “I was afraid before I sat down, but he made sure I didn’t feel scared at all.”
