Legendary cricketer Shane Warne from Australia passed away on Friday evening at the age of 52. He was found unresponsive at a villa where he was staying and could not be revived despite efforts from medical professionals.
“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” Warneâs management confirmed in a statement.
“The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course,” the statement added. Reportedly, he was in Thailand at the time of his death.
Earlier today, in the morning Shane had tweeted a condolence message for the family of another legendary Australian cricketer Rod Marsh who passed away on Thursday. “Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & an inspiration to so many young boys & girls. Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much-especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots & lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate,” he had written on Twitter on Friday morning. He had also posted a picture from his villa in Thailand on Thursday evening.
The news of his demise came as a massive shock to his admirers and fans across the globe. Warne was one of the greatest-ever cricketer to have played the sport.
Several Bollywood celebrities took to their social media handle to express grief over the sudden demise of Warne. From Ranveer Singh to Shilpa Shetty to Sunny Deol, members of the film fraternity mourned the loss.
