The wedding festivities for Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif have begun, and the couple’s Sangeet ceremony will begin in just a few hours. As music fills the night, the bride and groom, their families, and friends are all set to partake in the great celebrations.
And now according to BollywoodLife, Vicky’s mother Veena Kaushal did something special for her soon-to-be bahu Katrina shortly before the Sangeet. A source close to the family explains “Veena ji is quite fond of Katrina. While the larger Sangeet night would take place later today, she wanted to do something more intimate and special, so she planned a small Ladies Sangeet ceremony in the desi Punjabi style.”
According to the source, while guests have been arriving throughout the day, Veena Kaushal’s Ladies Sangeet only had immediate family members and a few core members from both sides of the extended family. “The women from Vicky’s family played dholkis and sang several Punjabi folk songs about marriage, wedded life, and the future for the young couple,” says the source. “Veena ji wanted to give Katrina and her London-based family a taste of Punjabi culture, and this pleasant family event was the perfect way to accomplish it,” the insider continued, adding, “Katrina also danced a little to the Punjabi songs on dholki beats and was smiling throughout.”
The big Sangeet ceremony, which begins in a few hours, will feature performances from the bride and groom’s family as well as Bollywood singers Shankar Mahadevan, Gurdas Maan, Neha Kakkar, Rohanpreet, Sachet – Parampara, and others.
