Akshay Kumar has lately been on an experimental streak when it comes to advertisements. The actor who was seen playing a superhero and then a thief in recent adverts has now got a chance to pay a tribute to the late superstar and his father-in-law Rajesh Khanna with his latest ad film. Akshay turned chef for the advert which he says was inspired by Rajesh Khanna’s character in the critically acclaimed hit Bawarchi.
In the new ad for a cooking oil brand, Akshay Kumar dressed as a chef can be seen returning home with a bag of groceries when members of the family who employed him make different requests to him on what to prepare. He assures the lady of the house that he has their health in mind as well and says that he will cook all their favourite dish in soybean oil filled with nutrients.
Sharing the video, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Very rarely do we get a chance in life to play our hero on screen! Is #ad ko karte huye mujhe wohi khushi mili. Fondly remembering my late father-in-law whose iconic character in Bawarchi inspired me to do this. @FortuneFoods”.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen on screen in the film Prithviraj followed by Bachchan Pandey. He also has multiple other films in the pipeline including OMG 2, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, Mission Cinderella, Gorkha, and Selfiee.
