Alokesh Lahiri was born on 27th November 1952 in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. He died on 16th February 2022. He is best known for his nickname, Bappi Lahiri. By profession, he was an Indian singer, composer, politician, and record producer. He popularised the use of synthesized disco music in Indian cinema and sang some of his own compositions. He completes his education at primary school and local college in India.
