Major cryptocurrencies saw their prices surge on January 10, helping the global crypto market cap to rise to $847.01 billion over the past 24 hours.

Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency, was up 0.09 percent and stood at $17,224.80. Ethereum, the second largest crypto in the world, is valued $1,325.88, after gaining 1.09 percent over the last 24 hours.

Other top cryptos like Uniswap, Monero and Lido DAO also gained by up to 3.26 percent. While, cryptos like Cardano fell nearly 5 percent, XRP 1.4 percent, Polygon over 1.6 percent, Solana 2.4 percent and Polkadot nearly 1 percent in the past 24 hours.

Top gainers were Aptos, Gala and GMX. These cryptos were up 26.6 percent, 18 percent and 6 percent, respectively. Frax Share, Optimism, and NEAR Protocol were among the laggards.

On Tuesday, the global crypto market cap fell marginally and stood at $849.51 billion. However, the total crypto market volume has been up by 33 percent to $41.42 billion over the past 24 hours.

The total volume in DeFi was $3.45 billion, which is 8.15 percent of the total crypto market 24-hour volume.
