The trailer of the upcoming film Gehraiyaan was released a week ago and the subject of infidelity and the complex characters played by Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Dhairya Karwa has already piqued the interest of the audience. Directed by Shakun Batra, Gehraiyaan is a relationship drama that looks beneath the surface of complex modern relationships, adulting, letting go, and taking control of ones’ life path.
On Thursday evening, Deepika dropped a snippet of her character Alisha from the film giving a peek into her world. From the trailer of the film we got to know that Alisha is in a monotonous relationship and ends up cheating on her partner with her cousin’s fiancé.
In the new snippet shared by Deepika, we get a peek into Alisha’s world which only deepens the mystery around her character. The video begins with Alisha saying that she does not wish to meet the fate of her mother. “I don’t want to end up like her- stuck,” she says.
This is followed by montages of different emotions that Alisha goes through. Sharing the video, Deepika wrote, “Choices or Destiny…What do you believe in? A peek into the world of #Alisha”.
Jointly produced by Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions, and Shakun Batra’s Jouska Films, Gehraiyaan will have its World Premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The film also features Rajat Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.
