By PosterGuy: The third day of the Ranji Trophy came to an end with several results and setting up a few more exciting finishes for the final day of the game. Several batters played out big scores on the day, but it was Manish Pandey’s innings that caught the eye against Goa. Manish hit a double century against Goa and helped Karnataka to a massive score of 603/7 after which captain Mayank Agarwal declared the innings. In reply Goa, which now houses Arjun Tendulkar failed to eclipse Karnataka’s total by a long mine and have lost 8 wickets for 321 runs and currently trail the Southern giants by 282 runs.
Mumbai vs Saurashtra has moved towards a thriller with Mumbai needing just 62 to more runs to win. However the catch is that they just have 2 wickets in hand. Mumbai Indian’s latest Indian Premier League recruit Shams Mulani is currently batting at 30 off 49 balls and will be crucial for Mumbai.
Saurashtra on the other hand will be hopeful of removing the tail of the side, who have lost almost all of their top batters for a cheap score. Only Prithvi Shaw was able to cross a half century from Mumbai in the second innings, while the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Ajinkya Rahane and Sarfaraz Khan failed.
Bengal vs Nagaland saw a result after Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sudip Gharami piled on runs and took the total to 450/4 in just 96 overs. Easwaran who did very well for India A in Bangladesh continued his form and hit 170 runs. The rest of the job was done by Bengal’s Pradipta Paramnik who picked 6/43 to bundle Nagaland for 166 runs. Bengal won the match by an innings and 161 runs.
Jammu and Kashmir on the other hand emerged as unlikely winners in Nagpur, defeating Vidarbha by just 39 runs. Left-arm pacer Abid Mushtaq picked 8 wickets for just 18 runs to derail Vidarbha and wrap them up for just 101 runs in the final innings of the game.
